Job Description

Responsible for designing, planning, implementing and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation.

1. Participates in the design, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of relational databases.

2. Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.

3. Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure.

4. Reviews business requests for data and data usage, researches data sources for new and better data feeds.

5. Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.

6. Tests designed applications.

7. Assignments may include design of data dictionaries, database structure and layout, installing, upgrading, and managing database applications.

Specifically,

Applications services and database management services to maintain and update customer DBM systems.

Provide database updates to maintain the DAIRS system (frequency: daily). Specific tasks include:

1. Creation, management and troubleshooting of application schema-level processes, database objects and entity data.
2. Grant and revoke access to entity schema-level database objects and entity data.
3. Application schema changes.
4. Extract data for the purpose of developing metrics

Enhance the dissemination of the customer's Print on Demand (PoD) database files via the customer Gateway through direct database support. This includes data integrity checks, database verification and synchronization, auto publications and database troubleshooting and repair, as well as performing comparisons between the PoD, Forward Based GEOINT-GS (FBG-GS), Geospatial-Search-Query-Resource-Locator (GeoSQRL), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and DART Databases. Also included is the provision of demand footprint metrics.

1. Continuation of the Oracle Intent to Publish (NIP) database development to allow for advanced identification and program management of customer approved print and digital replication requirements for processing and dissemination. The database shall track inventories, production schedules, and storage requirements across multiple Source production offices.
2. The Forward Based GEOINT – Geospatial Services (FBG-GS) Production System must be maintained to transform Foundation GEOINT (FG) data to print ready files for print on demand (PoD), replication on demand (RoD), and dissemination of GEOINT products.
3. Creation of database analytics for the customer database, which will allow Senior Leadership to interpret data, analyze results, and review from multiple data sources. Enable organizing and gathering Production Operations data to present to Senior Leadership with visualization tools to show in Pie Charts and Bar Graphs. Create SQL queries and pivot charts to analyze the data for accuracy, data integrity, discrepancies, and for metrics. Work with management in prioritizing requirements and creating different management views for a Dashboard. Review ways of automating the process to reduce errors and to increase data integrity.

Technical support to the customer's PoD/ NIP database and Operations and Sustainment (O&S) support Computer to Plate (CTP) / Forward Based GEOINT (FBG) system. Tasks include but are not limited to, troubleshooting, maintaining baseline software and security requirements and accomplishing required maintenance and upgrades to the CTP/FBG system.

Education

Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications

5-8 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.

1. Specific experience: SQL and relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
2. Specific experience: C#, JavaScript, and Visual Basic.
3. Specific experience: Design, development and testing of production ready reports.
4. Essential skill: Strong understanding of logical and physical data modeling concepts.
5. Four (4) years of aggregated relevant experience on the above-listed qualifications.
