Job Description

Manages the design, development, implementation and administration of databases.

* Manages employees engaged in the design, development and administration of databases and their supporting infrastructure.
* Instructs employees on the execution of the established standard practices methods and techniques for database administration and monitoring.
* Schedules and monitors resources supporting both day-to-day operations and project activities.
* Reviews work products and documentation to insure compliance with established controls and procedures.
* Monitors and communicates service delivery performance metrics with employees, customers and senior management.
* Develops project plans and manages efforts to integrate new products, services and methods.
* Participates in special projects as required.


* Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

* 8-10 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience. MUST have ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance

Experience Requirements:

* Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) maintenance.
* Structured Query Language (SQL) experience.
* Understanding of RDBMS concepts (Cardinality, Relational Theory, Normalization, etc.).
* Experience in a *nix environment.
* Standards based development and engineering.
* Structured/process driven development.
* Code repository utilization (SVN or Git).

Preferred Experience:

* PostgreSQL utilization.
* Secure database practices.
* Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for Databases.
* Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools such as Hibernate.
* Virtualization (AWS, VirtualBox, VMWare, Vagrant, Google, etc.).
* Provisioning systems (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
