Job Description

Researches, prepares and edits technical documents.

1. Participates in the research, preparation and editing of technical documents for publication, including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.

2. Reviews, researches, and edits information for preparation of contract deliverables.

3. Ensures documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.

4. Provides support to the creation of proposals and multi-media presentation materials.

5. Participates in the design and development of marketing brochures, conference programs, public relations announcements, and other materials when requested.

6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

7. Participates in special projects as required.

* Receive electronically or hard copy articles, reports, textbook material, graphics material, and other information to format and perform editorial functions in preparation for printing.

* Coordinate final product with functional manager and Director of Curriculum Development, and submit for printing either as an electronic media or printed format.

* Closely proofread text material for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and format.

* Edit and utilize editorial support skills to advise writers/authors on format and style of presentation, thus reducing/eliminating ambiguity and redundancy.

* Possess knowledge of various style manuals, desk/library references, etc., to verify information and locate source documents concerning submitted manuscripts, thereby avoiding redundancy, contradiction, or misinformation.

* Answer selected correspondence and performs research.

* Coordinate jointly-developed writing projects with other organizations.

Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism or a related discipline.


0-2 years of related experience preparing and editing technical documentation.
