Job Description

As a Systems Engineer, you will provide engineering & design services in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE); you will perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation & testing of new software and hardware solutions in coordination with Operational teams and SMEs; you will provide technical engineering documentation and support for the implementation, testing, integration, interoperability and sustainment of information technologies comprising USACE Enterprise capabilities; you will generate and prepare technical reports and related documentation; you will prepare and deliver technical briefings & presentations as required; you will apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at a scriptable engineering solution; you will be required to serve as the Technical Lead on project-based work; you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and services delivered for particular task(s) for which this skill is performing the Technical Lead position.

* Apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods in the creation and support of complex Enterprise-level Windows- & Unix-based solutions.
* Work collaboratively with Gov Program Managers and Engineers to refine project requirements and produce deliverables.
* Actively participate in weekly project meetings to provide status updates to Gov project stakeholders.
* Work with ACE-IT Operational Teams and personnel to extract data from Production environments for analysis.
* Work with ACE-IT Operational Teams to to generate deployment documentation and ensure solution is deployable & supportable in the production environment.
* Work with different hardware and software vendors to identify solutions & implementation details based on project requirements.
* Build virtual test environments to test engineering solutions and generate documentation.
* Process development execution.
* In addition to the required skills, standard job description and functions of all Systems Engineers, this position will provide technical guidance and escalation support on a variety of enterprise hardware & software solutions and management resources assigned to the program, including multiple servers and integrated systems.

* Possess advanced knowledge of Active Directory technologies, to include Group Policy, DNS, Security Groups, AD Trusts, Replication, etc.
* Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange & SMTP technologies.
* Experience with Cloud technologies (Office 365, AWS, Azure, etc.)
* Experience with SNMP protocol on various systems and network devices.
* Possess advanced knowledge of VMWare and virtualization technologies.
* Experience with supporting & engineering Enterprise-level hardware & software solutions.
* Must be familiar with a broad range of Systems Administration & Engineering processes. Technical leadership, demonstrated experience with the monitoring tools, effective planning and coordination skills, ability to build effective relationships, and strong communication skills are all required.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems and speak fluently to management regarding solutions and options for problem resolution.
* Ability to work closely with a variety of customers including; Infrastructure technical resources, Application technical resources, end users, and vendor sales/infrastructure professionals.

* Ability to coordinate and get cooperation from multiple areas within IT to accomplish assignments.

Work is generally conducted in an office environment, and may extend into late hours. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations and published company work rules. Working environment will be 90% indoor, 10% outside.

Ability to lift 40 pounds required. Standing, sitting, squatting and other normal office related physical activities required. Must be able to regularly lift/push/pull 40 lbs.

Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.

This position requires DOD 8570.01-M IASAE Level 1 certification (CISSP (or Associate), CASP, or CSSLP) and corresponding computing environment (CE) certification one of the following: MCTS, MCITP, MCSE, VCP, VCAP, CCNP Data Center, EMCSA, NCDA.

* PowerShell experience for automating tasks
Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen, Must have valid Secret Clearance or be able to obtain one, Meets requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access, Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal. Must possess strong working knowledge of Military and Government telecommunications and electronic principles.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


2-5 years of related systems engineering experience.
