Job Description

Builds and codes applications and/or models using various computer programming languages.

1. Plans, develops, tests, and documents mainframe-resident and client/server applications programs.

2. Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.

3. Prepares detailed specifications from which code will be written.

4. Confers with end-users to analyze specified methods and procedures, identify problems, and document specific requirements.

5. Writes and updates technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials.

6. Performs a variety of testing procedures on assigned products, analyzes test results, and corrects problems.

7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

8. Participates in special projects as required.

Education

GDIT requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Complete the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Qualifications

*Secret Clearance is required.

Six (6) years of experience, to include: Software Design, Development, and Test and Evaluation.

*
Four (4) years of programming experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Java Frameworks for web applications; or similar application development technologies.

*
Three (3) years of experience, to include: Database development, Web page design, Computer Based Training development, and using .NET tools and .net Integrated Development Environment tools, asp.net, SQL Server 2000, and HTML editor tools.
