Job Description

Provides installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related CISCO peripheral hardware. Design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network , responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meeting MTC-HI Units training objectives.

1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.

2. Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).

3. Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.

4. Provides technical support and training to end-users.

5. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have limited supervisory responsibilities.

6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

7. Participates in special projects as required.

8. Engineering start to finish to all network devices from layer 1 to 4 on upcoming exercises event.

9. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.

10. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.

11. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.

12. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.

13. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

14. Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems.

15. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools, and solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.

16. Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., transport-ONS, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, Qos).

17. Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations, STIG's all DoD network devices, and deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, GRE, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, Qos).


Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


1. 5-8 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.

2. Secret clearance required.

1. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in information system troubleshooting and support.

2. Comprehensive knowledge of related hardware and software.

3. Installs and configures all comsec devices, TACLANE and SKL on the WAN network.

4. Knowledge to able by drawing out network diagram using VISIO software.

5. Tracking Budget Expenses, Project Management, Problem Solving, LAN Knowledge, SolarWinds Servers, Networking knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning, People Management.

6. Able to configure CISCO devices, ASA firewall, layer-3 router using serveral routing protocol e.g., BGP, EBGP, IBGP, OSPF, EIGRP, GRE tunnel and layer-2 switch using multi-layer Trunking, VLAN, and VTP.
