Job Description

Job Responsibilities

As a SharePoint Administrator & KM, duties include but are not limited to new farm installations, farm resource management (disk, memory, etc.), farm configuration management (thresholds, building new elements such as web apps or site collections, etc.), service application management (i.e. ability to install / configure all of the numerous service apps), security / patching, analysis / reporting, documentation of all architectures and procedures, installation / configuration of third-party products and custom development projects, and troubleshooting any issues arising from the infrastructure. Assisting users, trainers, and specialized Knowledge Management personnel in the use and/or troubleshooting of all aspects of the SharePoint portals.

1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of SharePoint, portals, and user accesses
2. Maintains the integrity and security of SharePoint servers and systems.
3. Maintains and administers the production and development web environments.
4. Gathers and tracks OS and web services Performance Monitor and other logs to optimize systems throughput and reliability.
5. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish all tasks associated with the Internet/Intranet environments to include IIS.
6. Creates and maintains complex directory structures and file security.
7. Maintains system documentation
8. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
9. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
10. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
11. May program in an administrative language.
12. Provides advice and training to end-users.
13. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
14. Participates in special projects as required.

Additional Requirements

1. Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
2. Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V3 Foundation within six months of hire.
3. Depending on job assignment, additional specific certifications may be required.
4. his position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide
5. The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
6. Experience with SharePoint 2010 or later
7. Requires knowledge of website development and design
8. Read and interpret HTML and script

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
