Job Description

Provide Aviation Logistics Support to the French government via an FMS contract in order to buy spare parts for the Charles de Gaulle Aircraft carrier.

Parts for:

* Arresting gear MARK 7 MOD 3 ;
* Catapults C13-2 ;
* Improved Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System (IFLOLS)

Some material can be French specific according to the configuration (service changes, specific needs due to aircraft applications, etc) leading to non-standard requisition. Candidate will be a key IPT member to communicate detailed supply challenges involved with each programmatic/engineering decision/plan.

Additional specific duties required:

* Attend Program Management Reviews
* Determine standard and non-standard requisitions; provide requisitioning guidance to French buyer
* Coordinate with NAVAIR program manager on specific projects; as IPT participant, will provide forecasting and obsolescence screening to aid French in future planning/scheduling/budgeting and long-term support of legacy ALRE equipment no longer in-service by USN.
* Provide guidance on appropriate procurement avenues for low stock levels, obsolescence and readiness improvement
* Provide monthly information about specific orders (BZ status, new contracts)
* Coordinate with transporter for specific transport issues
* Obtain and provide conformance certificates according to French QA regulations.

Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance and/or repair activities.

1. Analyzes standard contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.

2. Develops logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies.

3. Follows established policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.

4. Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.

5. Provides guidance and work leadership to less experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.

6. May serve as technical team or task leader.

7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

8. Participates in special projects as required.

Travel – two trips per year to Toulon France and 4-6 trips per year to Lakehurst, New Jersey and/or Lexington Park, Maryland.

Responsibilities may include technical team supervision.


Bachelors Degree in a related technical or military discipline.


10-15 years of related experience in logistics, traffic and/or supply chain management.
